“Leadfoot” – Billy Strings

Released on August 2, 2024, the song follows the story of a character known as Leadfoot, who recklessly races through town in an old Chevrolet Chevelle with a powerful 502 engine. The song’s energetic banjo-led instrumental and vivid storytelling have made it a standout track. Interestingly, Billy Strings used unconventional methods, including a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle, to contribute to the song’s unique sound. The song’s narrative, exploring themes of recklessness and consequence, is amplified by an eccentric, otherworldly music video that deepens the track’s dark and atmospheric feel. Billy Strings will be playing September 27-28 in Buena Vista as part of Renewal, a two-day experience hosted by our friends at Bonfire Entertainment, who also produce the WinterWonderGrass festival locally.

Kagen’s raw and emotional vocals are complemented by intricate acoustic guitar work and a driving beat, creating an atmosphere filled with soul and energy. This track marks his first release since the 2023 The Roads EP and continues his exploration of deeply personal themes.
