“Haunted” – Alan Duty and The Lost Rangers
Alan Duty & The Lost Rangers is a southern rock-country band with roots in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Formed by Steamboat Springs High School alumni Alan Duty, Ryan Hoffman, and Darren Halik, the group bonded over a shared love of Texas country music while playing hockey. The fourth member, Drew Turnipseed, hails from Alabama. Despite being scattered across different states for school, the band reunites during holidays and summers in Steamboat. Their debut album, Nicotine and Daydreams will release on December 28, 2024, with “Haunted” being one of their first singles off the album that exmplifies their singer-songwriter style and soulful musical approach. “Saturday Sinner” – Naughty Professor & Marcus King
“Saturday Sinner” is a dynamic collaboration between New Orleans-based jazz-funk ensemble Naughty Professor and acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Marcus King, featuring the soulful contributions of singer Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph. The track seamlessly blends elements of jazz, funk, and soul, showcasing the improvisational prowess of Naughty Professor alongside King’s blues-infused guitar work and Joseph’s powerful vocals. This release marks a continuation of the fruitful partnership between Naughty Professor and Marcus King, who have previously collaborated on live performances, including a rendition of “Stray” at the Maple Leaf in New Orleans. Some lucky Steamboat Locals will get to experience the rich tapestry of sounds crafted by Marcus King at his sold out show on January 25, 2025 at the Strings Music Pavilion.
“hide anymore (worktape)” – Wilder Woods
“hide anymore (worktape)” is a raw and intimate track by Wilder Woods, the solo project of Bear Rinehart, known as the lead singer of NEEDTOBREATHE. Released on December 20, 2024, as part of the “hide anymore / time on my hands (work tapes)” EP, this song offers fans a glimpse into the early stages of Rinehart’s creative process. The worktape version emphasizes stripped-down instrumentation and authentic vocals, highlighting the emotional depth of the songwriting. This release serves as a prelude to Wilder Woods’ upcoming album, “Curioso,” scheduled for release on February 7, 2025.
“Nice to Meet You” Myles Smith
“Nice to Meet You” is a song by British singer-songwriter Myles Smith, released on November 8, 2024, as the fourth single from his EP A Minute…. The track blends acoustic pop elements with Smith’s soulful vocals, creating an engaging and catchy melody. Upon release, Smith mentioned that the song was inspired by stories from friends, serving as a reminder that the right person can change everything when least expected. Critics have noted the song’s lyrical depth and its feel-good acoustic pop vibe, drawing comparisons to artists like Coldplay. Myles Smith will be playing the Mission Ballroom in Denver on April 9, 2025.
