Their breakout track Better Than I Used To gained national attention on FM radio, and their latest album, Arches, has drawn comparisons to the likes of Radiohead and Tame Impala, further cementing their place as one of the most exciting independent acts today.
Jeff Gorman’s musical roots run deep—his uncle is Steve Gorman, drummer for The Black Crowes—so rock & roll has always been in his DNA. But it was his passion for sustainability and unconventional touring, like the Petrol-Free Jubilee Carnival Tour (which involved a bicycle-powered stage), that helped shape the ethos of Illiterate Light. Jeff shares how those experiences, along with their time on a major label, have influenced the way they approach music now.
