Here are some new songs added just this past week:
“Fall Down” – Bonfire Dub
Bonfire Dub, led by Steamboat Local Scotty Stoughton, has just released the new song “Fall Down”. This a soulful track that showcases the band’s signature blend of acoustic melodies and deep rhythmic roots music. The song, accompanied by an evocative music video filmed in El Sargento, Baja California Sur, is a reflection of the band’s commitment to creating music that is both introspective and community-focused. The lyrics and composition are inspired by themes of resilience and personal growth, resonating with the band’s overarching mission of fostering connection and positive energy through their music.
“Fall in Love Again” – California Honey Drops with Lindsay Lou
The California Honeydrops’ new song “Falling in Love Again,” featuring Lindsay Lou, was released on July 26, 2024. This track is a soulful blend of rich harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, characteristic of the band’s signature style that merges elements of roots, R&B, and soul. The collaboration with Lindsay Lou adds a fresh, vibrant layer to the song, showcasing the group’s ability to seamlessly integrate guest artists into their dynamic sound. The California Honeydrops will be making multiple stops in Colorado in the coming weeks, including this weekend at the Rhythms on the Rio Festival in Del Norte August 2nd. They will be back in September playing the Gothic Theatre on September 12th, and the following night at Red Rocks with Greensky Bluegrass. “Irish Goodbye” – Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves’ new song “Irish Goodbye” is part of the expanded edition of her album “Deeper Well,” titled “Deeper Into the Well.” The song, which is among seven new tracks added to the album, showcases Musgraves’ signature soft and tender style. In “Irish Goodbye,” Musgraves explores themes of forgiveness and the lingering pain of someone leaving unexpectedly. This track highlights her emotive storytelling and delicate vocal delivery, continuing her streak of poignant, introspective music. The expanded album also features collaborations with Leon Bridges and Tiny Habits. Kacey Musgraves will make a stop in Colorado with Father John Misty and Nickel Creek at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on September 15th.
“Seasons & Narcissus” – Bastille
Bastille’s new song “Seasons & Narcissus” is part of their innovative four-part project titled “&” (Ampersand), which is being released in stages leading up to the full album’s launch on October 25, 2024. This song explores the mythological tale of Narcissus, presenting a modern twist on the story of a man captivated by his own reflection. “Seasons & Narcissus” is noted for its reflective lyrics and haunting melodies, characteristic of Bastille’s evocative storytelling style
“Stay Golden” – Saint Motel
Saint Motel has released their new single “Stay Golden,” produced by BEKON, known for his work with artists like Kendrick Lamar and Hozier. The song, described by frontman A/J Jackson as “a delicate dance of keeping the light alive while carrying the weight of your own dark shadows,” follows a series of 2023 singles and marks their return to new music since their 2021 album, The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The band is also set to support Lindsey Stirling on her U.S. tour starting August 26th, but unfortunately no dates are scheduled in Colorado at this time.
“Time Well Wasted” – The Fray
The Fray has returned with their new song “Time Well Wasted,” marking their first release in a decade. This track is the lead single from their upcoming EP, The Fray Is Back, set to be released on September 27, 2024. Co-produced with Andrew DeRoberts, Ryan Linvill, and Joe London, the song reflects the band’s renewed creative energy and introspective lyrics. “Time Well Wasted” showcases a folk-tinged storytelling approach, blending nostalgia with forward-looking themes as the band embarks on a new chapter. The Fray will be playing The Mission Ballroom in Denver on October 17th.
“Sunshine Getaway” – JD McPherson
JD McPherson’s new song “Sunshine Getaway” is a vibrant track that combines T. Rex-inspired glam rock with a sunny musical demeanor, though it carries a darker sentiment at its core. The song is part of his upcoming album Nite Owls, set to release on September 27, 2024. McPherson collaborated with Jack and Page from The Cactus Blossoms on this track, drawing from a conversation about the harsh realities of cold weather to craft a song about longing for brighter days. JD McPherson is touring with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, making stops in Colorado Springs on August 31 and Vail September 1.
“Floating Parade” – Michael Kiwanuka
Michael Kiwanuka’s new single “Floating Parade” marks his return to music after nearly three years. Created in collaboration with producers Danger Mouse and Inflo, the track features a driving bass line, lush strings, and Kiwanuka’s signature soulful vocals. “Floating Parade” explores themes of escapism and finding comfort through the power of the mind, offering a metaphorical retreat from uncomfortable situations.
