Starbucks Hosts First Coffee With Cops in New Year

Free Community Event Percolates Wednesday Morning, January 15

A new year means a fresh pot of the popular Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) Coffee with Cops engagement program is brewing up at the Starbucks flagship store later this month.

“We had so much fun getting to know the community through this event last year at many of our local coffeehouses,” said Police Chief Mark Beckett. “Coffee with Cops provides an open and welcoming environment to better understand the department, our officers, and to share whatever is on your mind. I hope you join us at Starbucks to wake up, recharge and celebrate the start of 2025.”

Enjoy interacting with officers while savoring a freshly brewed cup of coffee. In addition, chat with Chief Beckett, Commander Brown, and members of the SSPD including officers, sergeants, school resource officers, the Special Assignment Unit, animal control, community services and professional staff, who protect and serve our city every day.

Coffee with Cops is based on the police department’s daily briefings, which allows face to face interaction, sharing information and checking in with each other in a compressed time frame. In addition to SSPD, members of the Routt County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand for this fully caffeinated edition from 8:30am to 10am at Starbucks (225 Anglers Drive).
