“Stoke Up High” – Graham Good and The Painters
Speaking of the June 21 kick off to the Steamboat Free Summer Concert Series, opening for Andy Frasco & The U.N. will be Colorado’s own Graham Good and The Painters. “Stoke Up High” is the latest single from them, fully encapsulating the band’s signature “Feel-Good, Funk-Rock-Folk” style. Drawing inspiration from the euphoria of finding love at a music festival, the song captures the essence of spontaneous connections and the magic of shared musical experiences. When they visit Howelsen Hill this summer, Graham Good & The Painters will show why they have built a reputation for their high-energy performances and genre-blending sound, providing opportunities to open for the likes of Andy Frasco. “Past Life” – Mihali with Satsang
“Past Life” is a collaborative single by Mihali and Satsang, released in April as part of Mihali’s album Before The Dream. Ed Sheeran’s “Old Phone” serves as the second single from his forthcoming eighth studio album, Play, slated for release on September 12. The song was inspired by a deeply personal experience during a 2023 copyright lawsuit concerning “Thinking Out Loud.” Sheeran was required to submit old devices, leading him to reactivate a phone he hadn’t used since 2015. Upon turning it on, he discovered a trove of messages and photos from his past, including communications with his late friend Jamal Edwards, former romantic partners, and estranged family members. This unexpected journey into his personal history prompted a wave of nostalgia and reflection, culminating in the creation of “Old Phone.” Sheeran candidly expressing the bittersweet nature of revisiting moments from his past. Benson Boone’s “Mystical Magical” serves as the second single from his forthcoming album American Heart, set to debut on June 20. “Mystical Magical” is a shimmering pop-rock composition that showcases Boone’s falsetto vocals and features an interpolation of Olivia Newton-John’s 1981 hit “Physical.” The song delves into the emotional turmoil of loving someone who sends mixed signals, capturing the tension between desire and uncertainty. “Visions” – The Movement with Stick Figure
“Visions” is a heartfelt collaboration between reggae-rock stalwarts The Movement and Stick Figure. Frontman Josh Swain of The Movement reflects on sleepless nights filled with worry, ultimately leaning into faith in the journey and the strength of human connection. Scott Woodruff of Stick Figure contributes a verse that serves as a meditation on time and resilience. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ fourth studio album, South of Here, released on June 28, 2024, but the title track has just now started to gain traction on Adult Album Alternative Charts. Staying in theme with the album, the song delves into more personal themes, exploring his struggles with anxiety, insecurity, and life experiences. Musically, South of Here blends soul and rock influences, delivering a song that is both introspective and uplifting. To support the album, the band extended their South of Here tour into 2025, adding a date in Denver at Empower Field with The Lumineers on August 2.
“Witness” – The Wood Brothers
The Wood Brothers’ latest single, “Witness” serves as the lead track from their forthcoming ninth studio album, Puff of Smoke, set to debut on August 1. “Driving Backwards” – Bebe Stockwell & Chance Emerson
Bebe Stockwell’s “Driving Backwards,” featuring Chance Emerson, was released as the lead single from her debut EP of the same name, set to drop on May 9. The song showcases Stockwell’s signature blend of folk-inspired storytelling and organic instrumentation, enriched by Emerson’s complementary vocals and songwriting. The track is a heartfelt reflection on personal growth and the passage of time, with lyrics that evoke the warmth of cherished memories and the bittersweet nature of change.
