Whether it’s a new song from an artist you know, or an innovative sound from an artist you ought to know, Steamboat Locals is constantly updating our music selection each week. Here are some new songs added just this past week:
“Welcome to the Mountains” – The National Parks
“Welcome to the Mountains” is the latest single by The National Parks, inspired by their love for mountainous landscapes. The band has described it as “a song for every mountain lover out there,” which certainly fits well for our Steamboat Locals audience. Prior to their appearance at the Strings Music Pavilion last summer, we talked to Brady Parks about the influence nature has on his songwriting in an episode of the Steamboat Sound Check podcast. You will find The National Parks in Denver on May 15 supporting Ben Rector at The Mission Ballroom.
“Let’s Get Stoned” – Clay Street Unit
“Let’s Get Stoned” is a recent single by the Denver-based sextet Clay Street Unit, released one day before they performed it live in Steamboat as part of the Bud Light Rocks the Boat free concert series. The song narrates the story of a couple facing challenging times, yet finding solace in each other’s company, complemented by the simple pleasures of life, such as sharing whiskey and weed. Lead singer and songwriter Sam Walker describes it as a “sweet, heartfelt love song about two people who don’t have much… but what they do have is enough.” The track showcases the band’s blend of folk, rock, bluegrass, country, and Appalachian influences, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of its members. Their recent signing with Monument Records in December 2024 marks a significant milestone in their musical journey. Prior to their appearance at the WinterWonderGrass festival in March 2024, we talked to Sam Walker for the precursor of what would become the Steamboat Sound Check podcast. Watch the video HERE. Clay Street Unit just announced that they will be supporting the Kitchen Dwellers and Leftover Salmon at Red Rocks on May 26, and then in Grand Junction with Trampled by Turtles on May 30.

“Bring That Fire” – Moontricks with Siren & Seer
“Bring That Fire” is a collaborative single by Moontricks and Siren & Seer that marks their first official collaboration, although they have previously toured and performed together. The song blends elements of electronic music with Americana and folk influences, reflecting both acts’ signature styles. Siren & Seer, the duo of Luke and Bria, formed in 2021 after connecting over a shared interest in blending electronic and acoustic sounds. Their music reimagines dance genres through the lens of Americana and folk, placing them in likeminded company with Moontricks. This collaboration showcases the synergy by highlighting their mutual appreciation for blending traditional and modern musical elements. Moontricks will be supporting Thievery Corporation at Red Rocks on June 4.
“Rise Up” – Michael Franti & Spearhead
“Rise Up” is just one of many new songs Michael Franti has released recently in the lead up to the release of theWelcome To The Family album, available on March 28, 2025. “Want Me” – Bebe Stockwell

She attributes her versatility in songwriting to her exposure to various genres during her time at the Berklee School of Music’s summer program at age 15. As she has described it, her new song “Want Me” is “about watching your relationship fall apart,” highlighting its emotional depth.
“Out of my Head” – Tristan Prettyman & Will Evans
