Here are some new songs added just this past week:
“Trust the Path” – Coyote Island with The Hip Abduction
“Trust the Path” is a collaborative single between Coyote Island and The Hip Abduction that encourage listeners to embrace life’s journey with confidence and faith, reflecting themes of self-discovery and resilience. Coyote Island is the musical project led by Maine-based singer-songwriter Mike O’Hehir. Known for blending folk roots with eclectic sounds, O’Hehir’s music often explores themes of self-discovery and personal growth. Meanwhile, The Hip Abduction, a vibrant collective from St. Petersburg, Florida, is known for blending West African and early Jamaican reggae/dub influences. This collaboration seamlessly merges their tropical sounds with Coyote Island’s introspective songwriting, resulting in a track that inspires trust in one’s personal path. The Hip Abduction is currently touring with Mihali, and will be visiting Colorado over the course of three nights later this month – April 25th at Washington’s in Fort Collins, April 26th at The Ogden Theatre in Denver and April 27th at The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs.
“Nothing I Need” – Lord Huron
Lord Huron’s latest single, “Nothing I Need,” released in March, delves into existential themes, prompting listeners to reflect on life’s purpose and the pursuit of fulfillment. This introspective track follows their January release, “Who Laughs Last?” featuring Kristen Stewart. The band is currently on a sold-out spring tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their acclaimed album “Strange Trails” and has a summer tour planned, with tickets still available for select dates. They will be visiting Red Rocks on May 28 and May 29, with a return to Denver for the Outside Festival on June 1.
“Southern Man” – Kashus Culpepper with Marcus King
Kashus Culpepper’s latest single, “Southern Man,” is a dynamic collaboration with renowned guitarist Marcus King. Recorded in the historic musical hub of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the track embodies the rich traditions of Southern rock and soul. Culpepper expressed his intention behind the song, stating, “I wanted to write a song that shows off even more of my influences.” He added, “Truly honored to have Marcus come in and take the song to another level.” The collaboration with Marcus King elevates “Southern Man,” blending Culpepper’s husky vocals with King’s masterful guitar work. This partnership not only highlights their individual talents but also pays homage to the Southern musical heritage that has influenced their artistry. Marcus King will be in Colorado for two nights next month, first at Grand Junction’s The Avalon Theatre on May 28, followed by a stop at Red Rocks with KALEO on May 29. He will also end the summer in Colorado with a stop at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Festival on August 31.
“Glide” – NEIKEN and Portugal. The Man
“Glide” is a collaborative single by Swedish producer duo NEIKED and American indie rock band Portugal. The Man that merges NEIKED’s signature Scandinavian pop sensibilities with Portugal. The Man’s distinctive indie rock style, resulting in a breezy, feel-good anthem that encapsulates the essence of summer. The song is built on funky rhythms, dreamy guitars, and an infectious chorus, evoking the nostalgia of early 2000s indie club nights while delivering a fresh, modern polish. NEIKED describes the inspiration behind “Glide”: “Life can get crazy. It can hit you hard, right in the gut when you least expect it. Sometimes you learn. Sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you just gotta surrender to the feeling. Stick ’em up and Glide.” John Gourley, lead singer of Portugal. The Man, reflects on the collaboration: “First off, it’s a really great and well-written song. It speaks to you kind of immediately melodically, but it reminded me of our early tours in Germany. Like, the indie rock nights at the clubs, dancing and having fun. It’s got this distinct European dance vibe, and I really like that.”
“Ruin the Night” – Fitz and the Tantrums
Fitz and The Tantrums have unveiled their latest single, “Ruin The Night,” marking their first new music release of 2025. The track delves into the struggle of moving forward while being haunted by persistent memories. Co-lead vocalist Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick explains, “Some memories just refuse to take the hint. ‘Ruin The Night’ is about trying to move on while the past is still living rent-free in your head. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s a little messy, but that’s life.” Produced by Jonas Jeberg, known for his work with Panic! At The Disco, Selena Gomez, and Nicki Minaj, the song blends introspective lyrics with an upbeat, danceable rhythm, showcasing the band’s signature fusion of emotional depth and infectious energy. Accompanying the release, Fitz and The Tantrums have announced the “Man On The Moon Tour,” a 31-city summer headline tour across North America, which will bring them to Denver on July 29 to play the UMB Bank Amphitheater at Denver Botanic Gardens.
“Before the Sky Falls” – Grace Potter
”Before the Sky Falls” is the newly released single by Grace Potter, serving as the opening track to her forthcoming album, Medicine. Originally recorded in 2008 with esteemed producer T Bone Burnett, this song, along with the entire album, remained unreleased until now. The track showcases Potter’s sultry vocals set against a backdrop of strutting grooves, rumbling drums, and frenetic guitar tones, capturing the essence of surrendering to love amidst chaos. This song exemplifies the near-telepathic improvisation that characterized the Medicine sessions, with musicians building upon each other’s contributions in a spontaneous and organic manner. Medicine is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, via Hollywood Records, offering fans a long-awaited glimpse into a pivotal moment in Potter’s artistic evolution.
