The Billo Premium Cannabis Dispensary, in partnership with Wana Brands, is searching for local artists to participate in a series of unique collaborations. Both Wana and Billo hold the talents of local artists in high regard and have fostered a creative way to showcase their works among the Steamboat community.
Artists who reside in Routt and Moffat Counties are encouraged to submit their entries and compete for over $1,500 in total cash and merchandise. Billo is soliciting submissions from artists to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art that can be printed on t-shirts and other wearables. The printed shirts will be available in limited supply and used as both customer giveaway items and sold at retail. The goal of the Artist Series is to fuse the creative energy of local artists into distinctive merchandise available at Billo and encouraged by their brand partner, Wana.
“We have heard time and again about how cannabis has helped artists fuel their creativity,” says Dave Wittlinger of Billo. “So we figured we’d foster the talents of these individuals and support bringing their works to market. It’s such a natural fit and we intend to further tell the story behind what inspires these locals to create.”
The plan is to release a total of three original art pieces in the summer of 2024 (June, July, August). The winning art submissions will be printed on wearables and available at the Billo dispensary while supplies last. Each month will have an original theme that includes Pride (June), Freedom (July), and the Outdoors (August).
“At Wana, we’re passionate about supporting those inspired to make our world a more creative space,” explains Brandon Klemm of Wana Brands. “And working within the local communities where our products are available is extremely important to us as well, which is why our collaboration with Billo is more than a partnership; it’s a reflection of our core belief in the power of community involvement.”
Artists are encouraged to submit for any or all of the themes they choose. The winning artists will be paid for their work and highlighted on the Billo website and at the retail store. Submission deadlines and a complete outline of the program is available at mybillo.com/artist-series. Submissions for the June theme are due by April 28th.
