In this episode, Eli was able to chat with Megan Letts of Mama Magnolia on the concert lawn at Howelsen Hill prior to the Steamboat Free Summer Concert on July 27th. Mama Magnolia was set to open for Fruition, but Mother Nature had other plans. Unfortunately, their show at Howelsen Hill was cut short due to rain and lightning, but they did put on a killer performance that night at the press, and will be back in Steamboat on August 16 to play the Steamboat Resort!
Megan Letts is a talented musician known for her dynamic presence in the indie-soul band Mama Magnolia and the all-female supergroup WinterWonderWomen. As the lead vocalist for Mama Magnolia, Megan has been a driving force behind the band’s emotionally charged and genre-blending music. The band’s debut album, “Dear Irvington,” produced during the pandemic, showcases their resilience and creative evolution, exploring themes of depression, betrayal, and unrequited love.
In addition to her work with Mama Magnolia, Megan co-founded WinterWonderWomen, a collective born out of the WinterWonderGrass festival. The group, featuring prominent female artists like Bridget Law of Elephant Revival and Lindsay Lou, aims to empower and highlight women in the music industry. WinterWonderWomen has been celebrated for their captivating performances that blend traditional bluegrass with contemporary sounds, showcasing their versatility and talent across various festivals and events
