As we get set to launch the Steamboat Locals app and online platform in July of 2024, we are going to release weekly blogs that focus on the “Five W’s” – Who, What, When, Where, and most importantly Why .
This week, let’s focus on…Who!
Who are the people producing Steamboat Locals content?
Steamboat Locals was founded by longtime Steamboat resident, and former local FM radio personality, Eli Campbell. In doing so, though, Eli knew that he needed to be working with a great team of contributors and vendors. For this, the commitment has always been to work with Yampa Valley locals!
The Steamboat Locals logo was designed by Digigirl. Our website was built by Colomark. Our caffeine is supplied by Dusky Grouse! When and where possible, we will always use local providers, whether it’s apparel, equipment, or anything else.
Most importantly, our content is, and always will be, produced and inspired by locals for locals. Our constantly growing team of writers, podcasters and content creators bring many voices and many perspectives to local issues and entertainment. We’re excited to be partnering with local meteorologist Mike Weissbluth from SnowAlarm.com to provide forecasts for your local lifestyle. Want to share laughs about that local lifestyle, we’re thrilled to be hosting podcasts from Steamboat Comedy. You’ll get unique community impact stories from John Camponeshi, lifestyle contributions from Erin Campbell, stories of local legends and lore from Madeleine Mason…
And contributions from you?!?! We mean that! Our platform is built for locals by locals. Whether it’s something as small as requesting a song on the Steamboat Locals app or suggesting we start playing a band/musician not already in our library… Or, maybe it’s getting more involved as content creator yourself…
We are always looking for more voices and perspectives to feature. If you’d like to be a part of the Steamboat Locals content creation team, whether as a writer, podcaster, or DJ, please email steamboatlocals@localsmediagroup.com! The goal of Steamboat Locals is to provide a place for local content creators to express themselves in an entertaining way with the aim to bring a greater sense of community to our audience.
